BACKGROUND: The aim of this study was to determine the knowledge of women of childbearing age who had a primary care center, visiting with family planning service in Ümraniye. METHODS: This descriptive research has been conducted at an elementary school health center in Ümraniye, between 18-20 December 2006. In our study, study sample is not elected, and we are women of childbearing age who are attending primary health care to all causes in the study dates. Study of 241 women (89.9%), which was conducted of 268 interwieved. Study data from a three-part questionnaire, 33 question has been raised. The data was by Chi-square and Fisher exact tests evaluated. RESULTS:
